In No Time
Tony Ellwood’s “In No Time” series related to our perception and awareness of the passing of time. The images are created with a 5x4 camera, and captured over extended periods of time, using a series of multiple exposures, ranging from seconds to hours. Each picture is therefore an amalgam of realities, each layer blending with the other to form the final image. The result is a remarkably serene, reflective, and nostalgic set of images.
Tony developed the technique over a period of 18 months and spent 6 months visiting the site up to three times a day to photograph it. The location we see in the photographs is a place Tony visits to think, to gain inspiration, or to escape from the world for a while. The title “In No Time” is a reference to the phrase “in no time at all”.
